Global Exchange (NPL) opened its first branch in Jamaica on 16th November 2010, at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. After this first establishment in the country we continued our growth and expansion. The following year, on 15th March 2011, we opened a new branch at the Norman Manley International Airport.

Global Exchange (NPL) opened its first branch in Jamaica on 16th November 2010, at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. After this first establishment in the country we continued our growth and expansion. The following year, on 15th March 2011, we opened a new branch at the Norman Manley International Airport.

With these branches we are able to serve international tourists visiting Jamaica, offering our foreign exchange services at the two major International Airports in the country.

Later, on 23rd March 2011, we opened a new branch at the Secrets Resort & Spa in Freeport, Montego Bay, one of the most prestigious hotels in the island. With this new branch we position ourselves again wherever we can serve the tourists' needs, providing the most efficient service according to the standards of the Global Exchange Group.

The Global Exchange Group is one of the three leading companies worldwide at airport environments. Today, we have a network of more than 200 branches at 50 international airports of 19 countries and 4 continents, where our over 1,660-member staff service more than 4.2 million Customers every year.

What is the exchange rate for the Jamaican Dollar compared to the US Dollar or the Euro?
Exchange rates suffer continuous fluctuations. For this reason, we recommend checking the rates published in the electronic monitors at our exchange outlets.
Can I buy Jamaican Dollars outside Jamaica?
It is quite difficult to acquire this currency and, therefore, highly advisable for international travellers to buy them in Jamaica.
Is it allowed to leave Jamaica with Jamaican Dollars?
The import and export of the local currency is not allowed.

It is advisable to exchange your remaining Jamaican Dollars before leaving the country. In order to exchange them, Jamaican laws and regulations require to justify having acquired that amount of money. Valid proofs would be receipts from banks, bureaux de change or even ATMs. Therefore, it is important to keep the receipts of any acquired Jamaican Dollars. It is illegal to exchange money acquired in the black market.
Which are the most common methods of payment?
Credit cards are accepted in big hotels, shops or restaurants. However, it is advisable to use the local currency for initial expenses and purchases in local markets.
Is it necessary to show a passport or ID in order to make an exchange transaction in Jamaica?
Yes, according to Jamaican laws and regulations and our internal policy to fight against money laundering, we require a valid passport in order to register the personal details of every Customer who carries out a transaction at our exchange outlets.
Do you accept traveller’s cheques in your bureaux de change?
Yes, in order to facilitate our Customers’ transactions, we accept traveller’s cheques in different denominations issued by the main financial institutions. It will be necessary to show a valid identification document and fulfil the corresponding requirements.
What are the opening hours of your bureaux de change?
Our exchange offices open during the airport operating hours, so that no passenger remains helpless in his/her exchange necessities.

You can use this voucher in your next currency exchange transaction, at any of our branches within the same country. This discount is applicable on the exchange margin and it does not expiry.
